We Are Non Profit Organization

HBC was created in 2018 by a group of young, dynamic Cameroonian professionals working in different sectors of activity, including clinical psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers, medical doctors, religious leaders, communication specialists, community based rehabilitation specialists, and former patients who have recovered from their mental health challenges.

All these founding members shared a common passion for mental health and a desire to advocate for vulnerable populations, such as people with mental health challenges, persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons, street children, survivors of gender-based violence, and unsupported elderly people.

Our Vision

HBC carries out both community-based and hospital-based activities.

Community-based activities

  • Sensitization programs in the community
  • Capacity building activities through on-site and online training programs for healthcare providers
  • Community rehabilitation activities
  • Advocacy
  • Outreach activities
  • Referrals

Hospital-based activities

  • Psychiatric consultations and follow-up
  • Psychosocial support
  • Individual and group counseling sessions
  • Psychotherapy

Our Mission

To improve the mental health and well-being of vulnerable populations in Cameroon through community-based and hospital-based interventions, advocacy, and capacity building.
